Rights of Way

Are you experiencing a dispute where your neighbour has:

  • Blocked/stopped your right of way over their land?

  • Claimed a ransom strip of land over which your access to your property runs?

Examples of cases resolved by us:

Case 1. Our clients had the Right of Way to cross a neighbour's garden to a main road to deposit their bins for collection. The neighbour locked the gate between the properties, blocking our clients' Right of Way, forcing our clients to take their unsanitary bins through their cottage to the main road. After we were instructed we reinstated our clients' right to put out their bins across the neigbours garden and the dispute was resolved.

Case 2. Our clients purchased a property with access from a main road to their home by vehicle. A neighbour waited until they wished to sell their property, then claimed their access ran over a part of his land, and would only give our clients permission to access their property if they paid him thousands of pounds. We resolved the matter for our clients ensuring the accessway was available to them and that it would remain accessible to any future owners after they successfully sold their home.

Case 3. Our client purchased a semi-detached cottage with a right of way across her neighbour's back garden and down the side of their home. The neighbours prevented our client's access across their property and verbally harassed our client. Following our instruction the neighbours reinstated our client's access across her property and the verbal harassment ceased.
